I can see clearly now...

Ashley's hair has been growing like crazy.

This is how she rolls, most days.

She is very talented at pulling hair elastics out.

She needed a hair cut. sniff. sniff.

Shaun and I both love the whimsical baby look and are so sad to think that our little girl is growing up!  But, something had to be done.

 Brittany and I took her to Snip its an overpriced kids salon

I have NEVER taken my 1 year old in for a haircut.

We needed Boppi, but sadly she is too far away!

I don't cut hair, and the Flowbee was NOT an option, so we really had no other choice.

Ashley was very well behaved.

She just sat there and let the girl cut away.

A little too much, in my opinion.

Here is the new look.  

The bangs are short.

The back is evened out a little.  

She is still our sweet little Ashley.

She's looking at life a whole new way now.

Shaun kept giving me that look last night.

We had no choice.

It had to be done.

Our babies are growing and changing.

There isn't really much we can do to slow that down.

Brittany will be 13 in October.

Where did the last 13 years go?

Ventura Harbor

We spent 3 weeks in Camarillo, CA over Christmas.

One particularly beautiful day, we drove over to Ventura Harbor.

We took the kids into the Channel Islands Visitor Center.

Ashley loved looking at the fish in the tide pool display...Or, was it her reflection that she loved??

The view from the 3rd floor lookout was amazing!

I miss the ocean.

We also walked along the Harbor, admiring the boats, and posing for some fun pictures!

*ASHLEY PREFERS TO HAVE HAIR IN HER EYES.

No Snow, No worries.

Shaun bought a plow for his lawn mower.

Tyler insisted they try it out on the pond.

We don't have any snow.

The pond and lawn mower were perfect for rides on the sled.

At the end of the day, everyone was happy!

LOVER'S DAY

Ashley would not cooperate for a good picture!

We had the "Melting Pot" at home, for dinner.  

We ate too much, but it was really good!

I made 5 of these Valentine's mail bags.  

The kids loved opening their Valentine's!

Skating on Penguin Pond

We bought the kids skates at the used sports store.

This was their second time on the ice.

Kaitlyn and Eric are great skaters.

Brittany was at Whitewater with the youth that weekend.

Tyler hasn't worn his skates since that day.  

He had fun, but prefers his boots.

Our neighbor clears the snow with his riding lawn mower.

Shaun is thinking about getting a plow for his mower.

We had a fire and ice party last Saturday.

Some of the neighbors joined us for hot dogs, chili, smores and hot chocolate.

I didn't bring my camera out :( 

We will have to do it again.  

Everyone had fun!

Brace face

My grandma gave me a snoopy plaque when I was young. It said "Braces make beautiful faces" Snoopy was wearing braces.  We have it hanging in the kids bathroom now.  These two beauties will be proudly wearing their new bling for the next year for Kaitlyn and 2 years for Brittany.  My babies are growing up.  I'm not sure how I feel about it.
